9 Posture Tai Chi Form

Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang created this form just some years ago as an introduction to Chen style Taijiquan (Tai Chi). After one learns it, it should take about three minutes to do one repetition. The form has no kicks or oblique moves, and he chose the most simple techniques to assemble this form. We teach it in our beginner program.

When watching the video, please be aware of the camera angle changes. The postures Hand Conceals Arm and Fist, and Buddha’s Guardian Pounds the Mortar appear twice each in the form, they can be performed with or without a Fajin. In the Taijiquan (Tai Chi) demonstration above, he shows them without the Fajin. The short Time required to complete the form makes it ideal for when you have little time, but would like to practice.
