Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang shows the first part of Laojia Yilu, in his standard instructional video series. This video was shot in the 90’s, and is offered here as a menas to help students remember the choreography when starting to practice at thome.
Chen Xiaowang didactly breaks up the traditional form, called Lapjia, in four parts. The first part comprises 18 “postures” or movements. The Intermediate program we practice goes up to posture 15, Jing Gang Doa Dui, when you stomp your right foot on the ground for the third time, just after the punch.
