If you cannot hold this posture, hold this posture. If you can hold this posture, meditate.CHEN YINGJUN
This was said to me by my Shifu in 2006, when I was practicing Taijiquan (Tai Chi) in his backyard. So direct and plain are his teachings, always building on top of naturalness: if the Qi sinks down, meditation ensues naturally. It also shows that the object of concentration in Taijiquan (Tai Chi) changes as your skill improves: when you start, the focus will be on keeping still and holding the posture. As you progress, your teacher should direct your focus to higher goals.
When i got his aproval for posting this picture, Master Chen Yingjun said:”Yes, post this picure. The students will be able to see how quiet i am.”
